Mistakes Companies Make with their Online Marketing

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

There are many mistakes that companies make with their marketing efforts when they write their own content on web pages. These mistakes include copying content from elsewhere, using too many keywords unnaturally, not using enough content, and much more.

Content is a very important aspect on a website and it works as a marketing technique that you must be aware of. The best thing that you can do is hire a professional to provide the content for you. Many companies write their own content to cut down on costs and they suffer with less revenues, less traffic, and other problems with their online business.

One of the ways that many retail companies make mistakes online is by copying content. The most common way that companies copy is by selling products. It is very common for a company that might be selling artificial Christmas trees to find the exact trees their competitor is selling. Because they don’t know what to say about the Christmas trees they will copy the exact product description and basic information about them and then paste on their site. The problem with this is that when you show that your lighted palm trees have the exact same information as a popular site on the web then the robots integrated in the search engines will eliminate your page from the search results. This results in less traffic to a site and also less revenues. If an entire website is copied then it may result in no customers at all and can cause a business to entirely shut down.

Too many keywords are another factor that many people don’t consider to be a detriment when they build a website and provide their own content. It is very common for a company to write the same keywords over and over because they may be describing products or services and they cannot think of a better word so they use the same words. If the same words are listed over and over on a site it will cause that particular page to be removed from the search engine also. The keywords on a page must be listed naturally and in a way that is how it should be used. Many people try to cheat by placing keywords in the code on the back end of a web page too. A search engine robot is designed to search for cheating and excessive use of keywords. When you do this then your site will be black listed.

Many companies also fail because they don’t use enough content on their site. They may have a retail site without any words on it but just photos and tell the customers to buy here. The problem with this is that customers need details about products and a reason to buy from you. Just because you have the best prices will not sell products. Plus, no content will cause you to be listed less on search engines if at all. Not enough content will also cause you to have less credibility with the customers also. Customers want to know that you know what you are talking about.

Leisure Promotion for Your Marketing Campaign

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

One of the best marketing solutions out there is promoting leisurely through things like t-shirts, coffee mugs, koozies, pens and pencils, bags, and more. This is the best way to get your company name out there and it can be very cheap for your business too.

Leisure promotion through t-shirts is fun. It is important to remember to put your website address on the t-shirt so people will know where to go to check out your products. Always put something catchy or cool on a t-shirt if you want to promote. T-shirts can be the most difficult but they do give you advertising every time someone wears one out and about.

Koozies are one of the best promotional materials because they always end up being used. If someone loses their koozie at the beach it will end up in the hands of another person who will use it too. They almost never get thrown away and they can end up all over the world. Koozies provide very cheap advertising and they can end up all over the world. If you are a USCIS website and provide information about the green card lottery people will see a koozie and check out your site.

Another excellent form of leisure advertising is by the use of pens and pencils. Pens and pencils are cheap advertising. You can hand them out to people for free and this will also get your name out to the public. You can choose the different types of pens and pencils you want to put your logo on. You usually can also print a couple of different lines of text on one pen or pencil. For instance, you might say something regarding US immigration and give the website address to find out more. Things like this are very effective.

Hats are another fun way to advertise for your company. Again, any piece of attire is a good form of advertising but you should be sure whatever you create is hip or at least targets the right audience you are trying to achieve. If you are trying to target teens about your products you don’t want to design something boring. If your target audience is the senior community you shouldn’t have something too busy and teenage style for them. If you don’t know who you are trying to target you shouldn’t put money into advertising until you figure that out.

Leisure advertising is a very popular method of promotion for any business online. It is important to include your web address or URL so people know how to find your site. This is one of the best forms of advertising because your name will get around. For instance, a pen in a Chicago business meeting may end up in Tokyo a few days later. It happens more often than you think. The purpose of going online with your business is to go global. When you provide leisure items for advertising purposes it only benefits the business in a positive way and gets the word out all over the world.
